Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad

Rajeev College of Pharmacy maintains a strict Zero-Tolerance Policy towards ragging in any form, both inside and outside the campus, including hostels and transportation. Ragging is a criminal offense punishable by law and will result in immediate suspension, rustication, and legal action.


What Constitutes Ragging?

As per the UGC and regulatory guidelines, ragging includes any act that:

  • Causing, inducing, compelling, or forcing a student to do any act which he/she would not ordinarily do.
  • Any abuse, humiliation, or terrorizing done physically, verbally, or psychologically.
  • Any act of verbal abuse, indecent behavior, or use of abusive language.
  • Asking a student to perform vulgar or indecent acts.
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student.

To ensure continuous monitoring, prevention, and implementation of the policy, the following bodies have been constituted:

1. Anti-Ragging Committee (Apex Body)

This body oversees the overall implementation of the policy, conducts inquiries, and recommends disciplinary action.

2. Anti-Ragging Squad (Surveillance Body)

The Squad conducts surprise inspections in hostels, classrooms, and on campus to maintain continuous surveillance.

The Squad comprises various faculty members, administrative staff, and student representatives.


Immediate Reporting and Contact Information

Any student who faces or witnesses ragging must report the incident immediately. Confidentiality is assured.

Penalties for Involvement in Ragging

Students found guilty of ragging will face severe disciplinary and legal consequences, which may include:

  • Cancellation of admission and rustication from the college.
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship or other benefits.
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any activity.
  • Lodging a First Information Report (FIR) with the police, leading to potential imprisonment and/or a fine.
